Lil Luxe Collections Alley Cat Romper

I am an affiliate of The Lil Luxe Collection, this post does contain affiliate links
I thought I would be taking a little break from testing.  I have been hoping to sew up a fall wardrobe for Mila and finally tackle some of those patterns I have been hording.  Maybe even
blogging about a few of them.  Well, here I am again telling you about another fabulous patterns that yes, I tested.  And yes, I said fabulous!  I just could not help myself when I saw this photo with the comment "call for testers"pop up on my Facebook feed-

I just could not resist, so I applied, and yay! I was selected : )  The Alley Cat Romper is a new pattern by a new pattern designer Jessica of Lil Luxe.  But have no fear, you would never know Jessica is new to the world of PDF patterns!  The instructions are awesome and the romper comes together quickly.  As you can see it also comes together perfectly!  I love a quick adorable patterns!  So I made three of them : ).  I hope you are prepared for a whole bunch of pictures.

Alright, look at that back.  You might think it would fall of the shoulders.   Not even once!  I was kinda amazed about that.  The fit is so perfect.  The snake skin was my first go at this pattern.  It is a sweater knit fabric.  I used a t-shirt like knit for the lining (the bodice is the only lined portion of the romper) and ribbing for the cuffs.  It's super soft and I would bet she is very comfy.

Now my second go at the pattern was an attempt at flipping it a bit and turning the romper into a dress.  Jessica had shown a few dresses she had made with the Alley Cat Jumper pattern  so I knew Mila HAD to have one too.  Jessica will be showing a tutorial on how to change the romper into a dress on her blog sometime soon,  Anyways here is mine-

It's pretty short because I think chubby toddler legs are the cutest : ). I also lined the skirt with a satin yellow fabric and cut it for a high low skirt.

The bodice is done in a knit fabric found here and the skirt in this fabric a voile.  To attach and keep a bit of stretch I used clear elastic along the seam.  Those are not affiliate links : )

Alright, and finally the romper I sewed up last-

I used a ponte knit from Hobby Lobby.  And let me warn you while this fabric was my very favorite with this romper it also did not have much stretch.  So if grab some which I suggest you do : ) (because the picture really do not show how adorable this looks in real life) make sure to add some width to the cuffs.  I added two inches but Mila has chubby legs so maybe you will not need as much.

And I was thinking I should share and say thank you to my handsome photography helping son : )  He kept Mila from running in the road : )

If you would like to grab this pattern for yourself you can pick it up here in Jessica's shop.  Oh I dont forget to check out all the other testers rompers during the tester tour-

We have a giveaway too : )
