Let's turn on the juice and see what shakes loose (Project Run and Playweek 2)

The "let's turn on the juice" in my tittle is from Beetlejuice. A quote from beetle juice himself.  I thought it was funny : )

I had such a difficult time trying to come up with a movie theme.  I kept thinking of classic movies "Shirley Temple movies, "Gone With the Wind, The Sound of Music".  None of them seemed to work for me.  I wanted to create something Mila could wear anywhere, and out of nowhere came the idea of Beetlejuice.  I LOVE that movie, its funny and quirky and cute, plus black and white is in : ).
I started with a lightweight knit shirt I no longer fit in and created these pants.  I love them! they turned out perfect.  And really these are the most Beetlejuice of the whole outfit.  The pattern is self drafted.

I added this polka dot knit shirt.  The pattern is Figgy's Banyan Tee.  I have owned this pattern for some time but never had sewn it up until now (that puts one more pattern in my completed box) . It turned out perfect.  I actually made two just because it was such a quick sew and turned out adorable! The fabric for the top is from JoAnn's.  It is a black knit with velvet dots.  In person it has a very pretty look.  I kinda want to go back and buy them out of this fabric because it is that pretty!
I thought the dots added a bit of a quirky look that went with the theme of the movie.

I do not think I would have ever thought to use vertical stripes.  Thanks Beetlejuice : )
I added a little sweater because it is cold here at this time of year, and once again I am adding a never completed pattern to my completed pile.  This was my New Years resolution, I am sewing my never sewn patterns before I am allowing myself to buy more.  The pattern is Heidi & Finns  Slouchy Cardigan pattern.  Yep and that turned out adorable as well! The fabric I used was the ribbed knit tube fabric.  I am thinking that may not be the official name of the fabric, but maybe you know what I mean.

I made a little bow with my left over fabric, I was going to add it to the cardigan but thought it may be to much and I kinda want to keep it simple.

Wow, taking pictures of a 10 1/2 month old is difficult!  I did snag a few good ones : )

Thanks for viewing!!!
